Ankur's Run for Janyaa
Dear Friend,
I am excited to share that I just began training for the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon. My run, on Sunday, October 3, 2010 will benefit Janyaa, a non-profit educational organization working with disadvantaged schoolchildren in India. I have committed myself to fundraising to Janyaa because I believe in their mission and the efficacy of their programming. I’m writing this letter to request your support for my run. Janyaa’s programs help children develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills through ‘learn’by-doing’ techniques. Janyaa is a young organization already having a measurable impact on the quality of education in their program schools. In the first year of programming Janyaa reached over 800 children, saw improvement in Math and Science test results and also observed an increase in school attendance on scheduled program days, indicating that the programs are getting children excited about learning. You can find out more about Janyaa’s work by visiting www.janyaa.org. Our team of runners are working together to raise $10k through our run. My personal goal is to raise $500 on my own. Because of the low overhead costs, this is enough to enroll 50 students in Janyaa’s programs for an entire year. I would appreciate it if you considered making a donation to help me reach this goal. Thank you very much for your support. Regards, Ankur |
